The Scandic Hamar is a centrally located conference hotel set in the 1994 Winter Olympics town of Hamar, two kilometres from Lake Mjosa, the largest lake in Norway. This nine floor hotel features 119 guestrooms with modern Scandinavian decor and wooden floors; amenities include satellite television with pay movies, minibars, Internet connections, clock radios and hair dryers.
Guests can work out in the fitness room or enjoy a game of table tennis before relaxing in the sauna or topping up their tans in the solarium. Traditional Norwegian dishes are served in the restaurant and guests can relax with a drink and watch television in the hotel bar. Families with children will appreciate the playroom with toys and videos, while business guests benefit from meeting, conference and banqueting facilities which can accommodate up to 1150 people. Complimentary parking is available for those arriving by car. Two kilometres away, Lake Mjosa provides guests with numerous leisure activities including trips on a paddle steamer and walks along Strandpromenaden, the beach promenade, while the Viking Ship Olympic arena, also two kilometres from the hotel, hosts skating championships, dance galas and markets. Oslo Gardermoen Airport is 78 kilometres from the hotel with an approximate driving time of 80 minutes.

The hotel has agreements with bus companies and offers reduced rates for groups travelling to and from Oslo Airport. The hotel also offers up to 20% discount for guests travelling by train. Hamar train station is 600 metres from the hotel. Taxis are available at the airport.
